SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A♠ J♦

fold, fold, CO raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, Hero calls 2 BB

Flop: (6.5 BB, 2 players) 9♠ T♥ J♠
Hero checks, CO bets 3 BB, Hero raises to 11 BB, CO calls 8 BB

Turn: (28.5 BB, 2 players) 4♣
Hero bets 14 BB, CO calls 14 BB

River: (56.5 BB, 2 players) 4♠
Hero bets 40 BB, CO raises to 63.8 BB and is all-in, Hero calls 23.8 BB

Villain is unkown.
I caled pf and x/raise on flop for protection.
When he called my raise, I assigned him range of TP+draws, or p+draw, like qt,qJ,Tq, KJ, flush draws
I think sets, 2p and straights would raise for value and protection.
Turn I bet and he caled, so I was even more convnced that I am barreling for value.
When he raised flop I was pretty sure I was beaten, but called.

Did I overplayed my hand? What was optimal way to play this hand?

Hey Oskrgy,

Flop check/raise is ok but thin. You should plan on folding to a 3bet at these limits.

Agree with comments that it's unlikely we are beaten when villain smooth-calls. I would definitely fire turn.

River we can't really value bet this big. Villain can have a flush. If he has a QT type hand then his draw has missed and he's not calling the bet anyway. In other words we probably only get action when we are behind. Better option is to play check/fold and let villain check back his pair+draw type hands.

THx a lot for your answer bro.
One of my major leaks is that when I am oop , when I check river and they bet I dont trust them and call.
I probably lost amount of money for new limit making those kind of calls

It's true villain may bluff river if he holds a very specific type of hand like AQ and misses his draw.

On this particular board a lot of the draws will be things like QT/KT/QJ/KJ which also have a pair. These hands usually won't bet on the river but will check back because they have a pair that is not strong enough to value bet. In other words if villain bets he very likely has a flush and will only be bluffing a very small percentage. So even if sometimes you fold the best hand, it really doesn't matter because overall you will lose money by calling.
