KJ po prostu będzie za słabo grało na ich range i wydaje mi się tutaj fold jedyną dobrą opcją?

Sugestie?

On polish board in Fix Limti section we have split opinions about claling that or not calling.

Some players suggested me to type here this hand, can I ask Dawnfall for a opinion about this?

Quoting one of players, we should call beacuse , Hitting K gives us easy game, hitting J gives us p/o game /folding on the river
and hitting oesd gives us p/o game.

Suggestions?

I would NEVER fold this hand preflop. You're getting way too good of a price to play the hand now.

In fact I wouldn't fold anything in my HJ range for 2 to a cap unless I was literally vs someone I could put on AA-KK and that's it for a cap.

Now the maths of poker would dictate that you don't fold anything for 2 back once you've raised but I can see an arguement for the absolute offsuit unconnected bottom of your button opening range, which is why capping as the BB in Button vs SB vs BB scenarios is still fine

CO and back though, no way.

Hi!

Main reason why I dont fold here is that fish is in the hand who will make a lot postflop decitions "cheaper" or will potentionally pay off more than he should. If he werent there I would still call since I think KJo is just too high in your range and also vs these two range its not doing that bad. On that note I would however have hands that I would fold in HJ when faced with 3bet/cap. I would fold hands that suffer playability and domination.... hands like K8o,Q8o,maybe some low offsuited stuff that may be there or even if you raise too much Axo in CO then I would certainly fold hand like A4o here...just my opinion.

You open Q8o in the HJ?

Must remember to 3-bet you a bucketload :)

Omg....I totally missread:) noob me:) for some reason I though we are CO.... forget about my post,was talking as we were CO:S

hmmmm... in this case I still would not fold KJo because of the fish but if he werent there and we are vs 2 decent players I think KJo certainly is a candidate to fold. I just think hand like this will play very very poorly vs a hand range that is very very strong and there are not really many board you can be too happy about. I actually think I go and fold something like KJo,A9o or KTo,A8o if they are there. Sure we are given good odds but I doubt we will hit a favourable flop often enough. Besides fold just few combos of hands here I dont think it hurt our overall equity or that we may run into any exploitaition problem....once again,this is meant vs decent strong players,when there is a fish involved I dont fold anything anywhere:)

hehe n00bfall :)

I think crappy Axo hands are ok to fold but KJ and such have more outs than their pair outs and thus better equity vs a capping range (not dominated quite as much although still suffer the issue) so I wouldn't fold them

Just to have some analytical stuff here as well:

These situations are hard to analyse, since we have no grasp on the amount of RIO we'll have postflop with these rather dominated hands, the best thing we can do is try to approach the situation from some kind of a basic example.

Let's see a worse-than-worst case scenario. I assume the capper has the following range: 77+, ATs+, KQs, AJo, KQo

You may argue that ATs, AJo, KQo or even KQs is a bit too much, but except for ATs all hands are bad for us, so let's leave them in. In this case our equity is:

       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    14.68%  14.24%   0.44% { KJo }
MP3    28.42%  26.70%   1.72% { 77+, ATs+, KQs, AJo+, KQo }
CO     28.45%  26.74%   1.71% { 77+, ATs+, KQs, AJo+, KQo }
BU     28.45%  26.73%   1.72% { 77+, ATs+, KQs, AJo+, KQo }

Assuming that both players will call the cap, we're getting 14:2 = 12,5%, meaning that by pure HC-equity we should call. Obviously RIO and the fact we used HC-equity means we should probably fold in this situation, but you can see that even now it relies on "secondary" factors.

Given that the 3betting range will be wider, and wider is better for us, since no more hands dominate us, but a lot of dominated hands get into the 3betting range, that's definitely a huge bonus for us.

The coldcalling range is probably capped, and will have much weaker stuff than this top9% range, so a lot of dominating hands get out of the coldcaller's range, and a lot of dominated, or just weaker stuff gets in.

Meaning that our equity will skyrocket up from here, RIO goes down (less dominating, more dominated hands in opponent's range), and therefore we'll realise more of our equity. So given all these, I think it's a supersnapcall, should be no question about it whatsoever. (And on the same train of thought you can see why folding weak Axo-s, Kxos that are unconnected, etc. makes much more sense.)

tl;dr: Don't think, call.

4handed i would also never fold this hand but in my mind your range is way too liberal. i'd rather set up a range like 99+ ATs KQs AJs. capping 77 88 is overplayed but with the fish in the hand it's not a big deal to cap KQo but it plays way better when you just coldcall preflop. There a certain scenarios where i'd fold Preflop. Lets say i'm opening KTo from Mp3 and receive a 3bet and a cap by some reasonable guys or with a hand like A9. You are always dominated, being on 3 outs and you have RIO's. It sounded like boomer etc would never fold a hand he opened preflop with?

Not capping 77 is awfully nitty. Against my opening range x2 (tho coldcaller's range will be significantly weaker) and my 3bet range vs a single MP open (once again, 3betting range should be wider cause of the fish + 3bettor is on SB) 77 has:

       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    27.99%  26.90%   1.09% { 55+, A8s+, A9o+, KTs+, KJo+, QJs }
MP3    23.21%  22.15%   1.06% { 44+, A5s+, K8s+, Q9s+, J9s+, T9s, 98s, A7o+, K9o+, QTo+, JTo, T9o }
CO     23.31%  22.25%   1.06% { 44+, A5s+, K8s+, Q9s+, J9s+, T9s, 98s, A7o+, K9o+, QTo+, JTo, T9o }
BU     25.49%  25.24%   0.25% { 77 }

I'd rather cap like 55 than fold 77 in this spot. (Don't forget we also get a discount cause we're BB.)

awfully nitty? you have just avg equity and unfortunately you didnt consider your position disadvantage and the big equity shift when the flop cards are dealt. You should just coldcall 55 66 77 etc. I'd start capping from 88 on but the majority of the good midstake regs would just coldcall 77 88 and some even stick to a non capping strategy in the BB as kobeyard did.
