Hey guys!

I have just played this hand and i got really confused. SB is a good player, he usually knows what is happening postflop, so he is an uncomfortable opponent. VPIP 30, PFR 22, AFq 50, WTSD 42.

CO is a weak player, loose and passive, VPIP 51, PFR 21, AFq 28, WTSD 52.

Preflop I think this hand has a good equity, SB is good enough to 3bet with a wide range. But I am not sure if I should have a call range here, probably it is a fold or cap situation. What do you think?

Flop I bluffed as it is the absolute weakest hand in my range, it has backdoor FD and gutshot so I think it is a good hand to bluff.

Turn I decided to bet/3bet bluff as it is absolutely the weakest hand in my range, I want to value 3bet some hands, so I guess I should bluff 3bet some times as well.

River I have the same reason to bluff (it is the bottom of my range) and I think he can fold here some hands, because he is able to bluff check/raise hands like QJ at turn and maybe folds some Tx as well.

What do you think about my tought process?

And what do you think about his call? I think JT was the absolute bottom of his value check/raise range so I think he should have folded it. Especially because usually it is a situation where players do not bluff too often, so my range here is just extremely strong. In your opinion what should be the weakest hand to calldown after my turn 3bet?

Preflop is a fold. If you wanna call some connectors rather start from 89s oder T9s on but 67s is actually too weak for coldcalling. I like your flopraise since you can generate foldequity on cards that doesn't actually help you like J or Q. If he got a pair like 77 or AK you'll be able to bluff him off those hands he's calling again with on the turn on his outs but has to fold the River. Once he called your flopraise and checkraised the Turn i'm pretty certain that he's got an overpair or a set. A hand you won't be pushing off by 3betting. The 3bet is overplayed. You should just call and give up unimproved. Why should he checkraise a hand like AQ or KQ on the TUrn? It makes absolutely no sense. Better safe 2 BB's and hope to improve on the River.

i agree with firsttsunami on the preflop play, 76s seems kinda weak to call. as a default, folding is probably best. if you notice CO folding in these coldcap spots preflop, then a lot of these marginal folds become an easy cap.

as for the postflop play, i think you played it perfectly. it's true that some players (evidently, firsttsunami is one of them :)) will never bluffraise the turn in these spots and will never ever fold once they put in the raise, but without a solid read i think it's best to actually go ahead and bluff with your most logical bluffing hand.

JTo is kind of surpising indeed, it's a marginal pre 3bet to begin with.. the x/r/calldown seems incorrect to say the least.

its true that if you wanna bluff and you should bluff sometimes indeed, thats the right to do so but the reads i picked on most players, the line SB played is 95% time a hand that will call down since hes usually not playing KQ or KJ like this. sometimes maybe QJ but thats it. call flop and checkraise turn is almost always a madehand that you won't get to fold later and unless you play a non cap strategy preflop which i think you don't what kind of hands you seriously wanna represent by 3betting the turn? 99 55 T9s. a really narrowed range.

This is actually a quite fun "artificial equilibrium" spot

As firsttsunami said the assumption is that very few players who call flop check/raise blank turn are in any way folding so therefore the default maneuver is to never re-bluff because they have a 100%, or near enough, calling range on the turn

Additionally if you have a capping range in this spot you have about 9 combos of value hands tops, and that includes 99, so if you are going to bet 3-bet semi-bluff you need to do it with like 1 combo.

If you don't have a capping range however and you've called this preflop against my and a few other player's better judgement, I'm pretty sure this is a MUST bet-3-bet.

Value Combos: AA-99, 55, T9s, 55 (38 combos)

Opponent is getting 2 into 14.5 to call down so we should bluff about 14% of the time which means maximum of 5 combos to bluff with and if anything you may want to under-bluff a bit using a little pre-emptive exploitation but not too much.

So that'd mean one suited straight draw so 76s or 87s, or QJs if you don't cold call the prior preflop.

i dont really understand why coldcalling 76s here is so bad, just going by eq its pretty much the same as T9s

(its in swedish, vunna=won, Oavgjorda=tie :f_grin:)
T9s

       Equity   Vunna  Oavgjorda
CO     34.36%  32.75%      1.62% { 22+, A2s+, K6s+, Q8s+, J8s+, T8s+, 97s+, 87s, 76s, A5o+, K8o+, Q9o+, J9o+, T9o }

BB     27.87%  27.64%      0.23% { 5d4d }

now i know youre not only supposed to look at equity, but comparing T9s to 76s having the same equity where T9s runs more risk of being dominated, that i dont get ?(
