Hi mlatasrb

What's his range for checking back flop and calling turn? Maybe some Tx/8x pot controlling or other hands like 9x. He may have some gutshots/draws as well.

Given our wide potential value range there I feel that it's hard to expect (m)any calls with Tx or worse.

I would say mostly Tx, 8x hands, maybe even 77 but unlikely, or some Ax hands. River I lose vs TK, maybe 8Ks if in his range so I thought it is better to bet than to c/c and be face up.
I often barrel vs capped ranges so I also thinner value bet as here.

The value bet is clearly fine if we expect those really light calls but I think it's hard in this spot with a larger bet such as the one you chose.
