Hey zukes,

It's recommended that you just flat AKo vs UTG+1 open when you are in BB.

Flop cbet is ok, but sizing is potentially too large. $0.50 is fine.

Turn sizing is too large. It should probably be a bet/fold also. x/c turn is decent too on this texture.

Hey.
Why do we just flat pre? Is it because his utg range is strong and we don't want to play a big pot oop vs this range? My reason for raising is that he seems a bit loose (albeit with a very small sample of hands) so AKo is ahead of his range and we have a chance of just taking the pot down pre instead of playing postflop oop. I understand this is making a big assumption about the range of an unknown though. Also I guess there aren't many hands he raises utg and folds to a 3bet.

Thanks!

Hey Zukes,

AKo will nearly always be ahead of villains range. However, because we represent so much strength 3betting vs UTG+1, there is a decent chance we are not a favourite vs the range that continues.

There are expections of course. If the early position opener looks fishy, has a wide range, and doesn't fold to 3bets, then we can value-raise of course.

Why a bet/fold given the action and stack size left?

We are only beat by QQ-33-66 and AQ. I don't expect him to show up with 33 and 66 too often since he is UTG and called a 3 bet. Really only QQ should continue I guess....?

Can you explain this in a bit more detail?

It's not a case of how many combos we lose to if these are the only combos he has in his range. Facing a turn raise our hand is so rarely good that it simply doesn't matter if villain reps a narrow range.

Villain can totally show up with 33/66 at these limits btw.

I agree that we rarely are good but we should always consider what we beat and what we don't regardless of the limits... He could get crazy here with AQ which is worse than our hand, especially onthe lower limits too. So I am not really convinced yet...

Yeah, he /could/ be getting crazy with 72o.

We don't really need to concern ourselves with what is possible only what is likely.

Btw, am I missing something? How do we beat AQ exactly?
