Hi all.

Pre:
Torn between flatting as I might dominate Qx and Ax of SB's 3b range (presuming he is using 3bets to defend at all from SB) but this would more than likely mean losing position as BUT also then likely to call....or 4b as isolation and buy myself position. Easy fold if 5b.

Flop:
Not expecting much to fold beyond AK no diamonds but also have Eq.

Turn:
Setting up possible river shuv but possibly no longer get called by worse on Turn?
(Villains QQ call is appreciated but rare/bad I think.)

River:
Given the action pre I thought the only hands he flats my 4b pre are pairs that have now setted up or folded to my two barrels and AK that has me beat.
I thought it very possible that he had a set a lot of the time and was x/calling down intimidated by the monotone board (see this a fair bit.)

Any comments on the line taken and is there any value in shipping the river here?
As played I cant imagine being called by much worse (AJ, KK, QQ, JJ, K10wKd.)

Thanks,
MD

Hi MasochisticDesire

Preflop: What information do you have on villains here? I think that is key.

The fact that you are deep makes 4-bet calls likely.

Postflop: Information is key here. Vs an unknown his range has JJ/QQ and even KK along with some AK/AQ and rarely AJ. So if he is unknown I'd even consider checking turn and betting river, or as played checking river back./

Thanks for the feedback Bogdan.

I like the check turn bet river suggestion - lose min when beat and potentially induce bluffs.

No hands on villain unfortunately.
With that in mind would you avoid 4betting pre?

Against unknown I'm not a big fan of the cold 4bet at all.

And his range for calling is really strong on average.

Yeah, I think I am turning AQ into a 4b bluff/squeeze and folding to a 5b.

As I am going to be doing poorly vs my opponents average 3b/calling range, you think it best to put these hands in my callng range?
Hard to say without stats but by default you think it ok to put AQo into my cold-calling range given the players positions?
Or do you think it is just a fold vs unknowns???

MD
