Hi all.

This blog will be quite simple. As the title says in 2014 I'll try to reach supernova status on Pokerstars on low stakes. How am I going to do that?

Plan is as follows:
- play 1.300.000 hands in 2014
- start at NL5 FR, end on NL25 FR
- play 14 tables, 850 hands per hour, 4 hours a day, 350 days

This means 28 hours of poker weekly.

As I have a job (working 10 hours a day) plan is to play 4 hours a day over the week, and 6,5-7 hours over the weekend. During the week I'll get up earlier, arround 5:45, play a session till 7:45 and then go to work. Also in the evening I'll play session to be on planned 4 hours.
I've also put a buffer of 15 days to get a rest from playing, or if I fall behind to have a safe side reaching my goal.

Shit this looks so unachivable right now!!!
Does anyone have some experience or read a blog that has something like this?

Pease comment, share your oppinion.

We start 01.01.2014.

Bye untill then

:)

Hey

Woah 1.3million is a lot of hands. Sounds like your gonna have a pretty hectic week but i guess as you move up the limits the challenge will get easier and easier which adds to the incentive of improving. all the best!

I am going for it next year also, starting at NL10 SH Zoom but very close to moving up to NL25 SH cash games hopefully. At NL10 it is 950k hands for me, but 2.6k hands a day isn't that much on zoom so its doable even if I don't get better and move up.

I would suggest you to work on your game as priority and to not concentrate on the volume. When you get up the limits, reaching SN would be much more easier.

Made some trial sessions on NL5 FR.
14 tables, regarding volume that is just about right to be on target.

4 more days and we START!!

Your schedule is impossible if u ask me, however best of luck. I strongly recommend u play 8 tables of zoom (4-nl5 and 4- nl 10), and so u wont have to wake up at 5 30 (OMG)

Hey, sorry to be a bubble burster, I just had my bubble burst regarding Supernova too and thought you should know. The hands per vpp is not accurate on Stars website. I think it corresponds with their old vpp system because it says 975,000 hands at nl10 SH gets you it, whereas based on my results playing 25/19 it looks like its actually gonna take me 1,400,000 hands (i.e. I'm definitely gonna have to move up to get it). It sucks, but that's the way it is. I would guess that the 1,500,000 given for FR NL10 is also not accurate and it would be closer to 2.5 million hands needed.

Just base your calculations for how much you need to play based on your actual VPP per hour or per hand rather than what the stars site says and you should be all good.

Good luck.

Hi metza, no need to be sorry. Thanks for te input.
I think you are right regarding that. But number of hads is not really a goal, goal is VPPs. Hands I have put as an approximation.

In order to be on track I have to get quite fast to NL16 and then to NL25.
Most probably I'll be on NL16 till mid March/beg April, we'll see how it goes from there.

I totally agree that calculations on the site are quite incorrect

Hi all.
Time for the first update.

I was thinking how should updates look like, and I decided following.
- during the month I'll just give an info about:
Number of hands I played
Hours played:
Hands/hour:
Winnings $:
Winnings $EV:
BB/100 hands:
VPP earned:
VPP per hand:

- end of the month I'll post graphs and stats about planned hands I should have played, VPP...

So here it is:
Number of hands: 21.516
Hours played: 20,57
Hands/hour: 1045
Starting BR$: 263,2
Winnings $: 47,52
Winnings $EV: 46,40
Current BR$: 310,72
BB/100 hands:4,42
VPP earned: 495,02 (including 125 VPP on "jumpstart" promo
VPP per hand: 0,0172 (without 125 VPP on jumpstart" promo
FPP: 555,68
VIP stats: silver

I currently play NL5 FR, 20 tables. My bankroll management will be 40BI, so this means I'll be moving to NL10 with 400$.

Not to bother you with details, you can do your own math how many hands would it take to get to supernova on this limit and with silver stats. When I move up the limit, I'll do it for you, just for the future readers to have it here.

More detailed rewiew I'll do at the end of the month.

Tell me what you think...

Week 3

It's been a shitty week. I'm on a big downswing.

Number of hands: 67.960
Hours played: 58,62
Hands/hour: 1159
Starting BR$: 263,2
Winnings $: 40,25 + 10$ bonus
Winnings $EV: 113,40
Current BR$: 313,45
BB/100 hands:1,18
VPP earned: 1270,44 (including 125 VPP on "jumpstart" promo
VPP per hand: 0,0169 (without 125 VPP on jumpstart" promo
FPP: 2.007,30
VIP stats: silver

I mean you know when you think you can't win a hand!! It's been so bad, look at my difference in ev?! Besides that I had like 20 times set vs higher set, KK vs AA.

But I'll not give this up, no fckn way.
Next week I'll grind like crazy because I'm slightly behind with VPPs.

Keep following.

GL bud, it won't be easy,
And don't lose nervs if you run below EV and still in green; just don't :)

If you plan on playing 1.5m hands you will probably experience at least one or two major downswings, so save your nervs fot those :)

Keep up playing, will be following.

Pozdrav! :)

Comment:

On this limit it's, I would say, quite easy. Play straight forward poker, no huge bluffs, no hero calls, play aggresive (remember: big hand - big pot, small hand - small pot). There are so many fishes on nl5, if you just go through basic stuff of the game, you'll beat this easy.
I know that because my game is full of leaks. It's very hard to make some moves, analyse hand when you play 20 tables. You just have your hud open, concentrate on fishes and make your value on them.

I went through small downswing last week but soon after it got better so this week was quite ok. Great that I managed to get to NL10.

About the numbers:
I played arround 91.000 hands on this limit. VPPs that you earn per hand is 0,00164, so if you want to reach supernova on this limit you have to play 6.000.000 hands!!! I think that is quite impossible.
It's ard to get even to gold status, I didn't manage to reach it, it would take arround 150.000 hands.

If you want to find out something more about numbers, feel free to contact me.

My nl5 graph:

NL10 here we go!!

Bye

No, I don't play zoom, I play 20 tables FR

Oh, don't know why I thought you played Zoom

Also how do you only get 0,00164 VPP per hand at 10nl? I'm pretty sure that is a typo and you actually gt 0.0164 but that is still really low. I get 0.08 at 25nl so I think you should be getting at least double what you do...
