Hello sunchyme1 ,

how do i play this? do i check turn? bet smaller?

Make a bit bigger c-bet so we can shove on the turn without over betting. C-bet to 3BB is fine. We can also c-bet small, bet small turn and shove river but I don't like the idea of betting small on the flop and shoving turn.

can we ever check back turn for pot control and to induce a bluff from villain on a blank turn?

but then how do we know if hes value betting or bluffing because we showed weakness checking the turn?

Hello,

With bigger stacks its fine IMO but with this stacks I prefer the bet. You can check also now but I don't like it that much but it is also a valid option. I don't like checking because we are giving free cards to J+, 7 and flush draw to outdraw us. Also if villain got K or a full he is going to shove river so we are going to call his range that is beating us. And often he is going to check/fold with his missed hands. Also on the river can come bigger card than 7 and its going to kill the action often and villain is going to fold against our bet. So to summarise check with bigger stacks is fine, with this is also not that bad option but the push or a small bet are better IMO.
