once he called flop, I think he has Jx +, draw so I will not make 2nd pair to fold even by 3 barreling, unless there are K and A. But dont want to risk on those also, because K and A helps to his range a lot.

So I decided to c/r turn - he will bet his draws, 2nd pair and Qx and Qx should fold to c/r.

What do you think about this? The one thing might be suspitious - I dont rep anything but bluff by c/r. At least I dont have c/r with 2 pair+ here.

Hi SPeedFANat1c

Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: Well he may have Jx+ but given the positions he could have some floats or even some 3rd pair that calls once. If you check only floats and Qx+ bets anyway so those 2nd pair hands are for sure not going anywhere.

Given your equity in the hand I don't mind if you were to barrel again or just ck/call the turn. Ck/raising doesn't really get rid of anything better imo.

So the question is, why do you think he bets his 2nd pairs and those weaker showdown hands?

I thought its for protection.

Hmm, maybe he does not need protection vs flushdraws and also if he has 2nd pair, its very likely that he is not afraid of overcards, becuase they improve his 2nd pair.

One more thing is OESD - would he expect me barrel all the time with OESD? If yes, then he does not need to protect vs it. But I might not barrel all the time.

About top pair - if I were him and had AQ, it would be tought to call vs such big c/r, even if I know it does not rep much, but just bluff. Unless I know he has c/r range with 2 pair or better.

KQ I would fold vs c/r even knowing it does not make much sense. I would think - I dont know him, just give him credit, who knows how he is playing. Plus I will need to call river also, unless I shove myself so It might become a spew easily.

So why should he call if he is reg? Or we assume he is calling station reg, or we assume he is good hand reading reg and puts me on bluff?

How many really check/raise the turn at 25nl on such a board with QJ, JJ, QQ, 44? Very often people just valuebet these hands so if you were to get check/raised and you had QA I'd find it hard to lay it without info that he's a it or something.

Also, let's say you are him and have JT. Do you really bet that turn vs a reg that cbet flop and checked turn?

Thats true, not many will c/r, becuase people also as me are afraid to loose value. But vs agro floating players maybe c/r could extract more value in long run with strong hand.

Yes I think I would - because there are 6 overcards + FD (ok FD will barrel most likely it selff, but on some ocations might not barrel) so I need to protect. Is that wrong?

Of course, with reads, dynamics, etc you can expect more ck/raises but even then a lot of guys bet.

But if you bet JT not much worse calls you so betting just for protection in a spot where you need little makes 0 sense (to me).
