Villain is unknown. What range should i shove pre? Best line post?

When he bet river i was thinking it could be JJ. Or a slowplayed QQ+. I didnt think he would bet AK/AQ like that..(?)

Calling preflop IP is fine I think. I don't really want to shove 99 for 41bb. We will always get called by better hands and basically make hands that we beat fold out which is bad.

So preflop call is fine.

Post I don't see why after a preflop 3bet anyone would check QQ+ twice. It's just stupid. And if he's stupid he will have other hands than QQ+ there as well. He could have JJ a couple of times, but I'm always calling river. There are a lot of stupid players who make strange plays so I just couldn't fold river, since he's repping something like JJ or TT, that he bets for thin value on the river. (Btw flop bet is okay so we don't give free cards for overs, you could even bet 500ish, and I'd also check turn. Or betting turn small for river showdown could also be okay, but I'm with checking.)

Hi,

Personally I would called river since besides JJ no hands makes too much sense to me.
Against 40/40 you can play likely for stacks pre-flop- he might 3-bet/call with 66+ and if he folds broadway hands then we gain extra 850 chips and don´t have to worry him 3-betting us light again

best regards,

I think we should take caution with this 40/40, since 6 hands is not really a sample.

Agree, but consider his 3-bet size I think he is likely regular, who is 3-betting that spot quite wide range.
Shove imo is definitely not bad especially if we can´t call his river bet on J3357 board

best regards,

Hi all,

Couple nevers:

Never shove this hand preflop.
Never bet this flop.
Never fold this river as played.

Reasoning: shoving is inherently worse than 4bet/call or call. Shoving with 99 isolates you against his stronger hands way too often.

Betting this flop opens you to getting owned too often. Get some pot control going here and check back flop. Sometimes the turn will be an A/K/Q and you have tough spots, but that's too bad.

As for the river, his line seems too weird to me, so I look him up.
