Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.02/$0.04 No-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)

Known players:
[tg]CO$5.65:///////;BU$9.08:///////;SB$4.00:///////;BB$4.41:///////;MP2$6.91:///////;MP3 (Hero)$4.09:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with 8:s, 8:c.
MP2 folds, Hero raises to $0.12, CO calls $0.12, BU calls $0.12, SB folds, BB raises to $0.48, Hero calls $0.36, CO folds, BU calls $0.36.

Flop: ($1.58) 3:d, J:s, K:s (2 players)
BB bets $0.75, Hero folds, BB gets uncalled bet back.

Final Pot: $1.58.

Once again opponets are unknown. BU was the guy who hardly folded any hand.
My basic question is if calling such 3-bet with 88 is ok. I was expecting BU to call also and so decided to call here for set mining.

Thank you

Hello,

Given BB is likely to have a fairly strong range here for squeezing preflop and the fact that you're likely to get good value from the button also the times you hit your set, I do think this is a profitable call preflop. Wp!
