I find myself playing a strong hand IP with a strong draw and possible overcard outs. I elect to 3bet the open raiser from UTG as I feel my hand is ahead of his range and that I can play quite comfortably post flop IP. I also felt I needed to protect against another caller making it a multi-way pot and thus decreasing my equity.
I miss the flop after getting a call from UTG. I do however hit a good flop with overcard outs and the NFD. I decide make a c-bet about 2/3 of the pot as there is no need for me to protect against draws as I hold the NFD. I think in hindsight I should bet smaller mayber half the pot but here I have a problem as I would usually bet quite big with an overpair. Also how would you recommend playing an overpair in this spot for example. AdAc?
I get called so I can assume villain has at least something, perhaps an overpair or the 2nd or 3rd NFD. I the take a more passive line on the turn and check behind as I am afraid villain may check/raise me off my hand. His stats show he rarely does this on the flop but does like to do it on the turn. As I have about 14 outs I decide to just check behind.
I miss river and villain bets to which I fold my A high hand. ♠_cry:
Do you agree with this play or do you think a more aggressive line like bet/fold bet/call push is more appropriate?
