Champions stand up one more time than the rest.

This is what I believe in. After watching the first part of the series by Raskolnikov.
This is what motivates me and I'll just go with it.

Every week I'll make two challenges for myself and every month I'll make
one challenge.

Monthly challenge (1): Staying fresh.
When Im well rested, my C-game gets reduced hugely.

Weekly challenge (1): Planing the hand.
How many bets I want to play for with my hand?
Which streets do I use for that?

Weekly challenge (2): Paying attention to bet sizes and timing.
+ Board structure and Villain's likely range needs to be added
with the decision. (Except if it's fast and big.)

Little about me:
This is my 4th blog. This one is different, because I'll use it as a
planer/challenges reminder and will post at least twice a week
to report my progress.

Welcome back to blogs (again ), I think you must like blogging!

It seems you have a plan in mind for this so good luck with it and stick to the plan unless it isn't working, then change it quick! :)

Just a point, planning a hand seems to be one of the biggest leaks going at micros, people do all sorts of fancy stuff but have no idea what to do when the villain plays back and it all starts with preflop.

Good luck again and have fun with this,

Mal.

Almost one week have passed by since I wrote in this blog.
Anyway, the more I play poker, the more I understand a variance and that's
good, because I'll be able to have longer sessions, when I lose bigger, than
win in the short term.

Since JAN I've played 225k hands and feel like I have a decent sample to
have a serious look into my stats and game. So, I decided to upgrade my
BB vs SB game and BB vs BU. It will take some time to adjust, since there
is a lots of new info to sink in, but it will be coolio.

How do I change my strategy? And why?
When some hand group loses more than -100 bb/100 hands over a
huge sample, then it's not a coincidence, but insanity ...

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results."

Challenges:
Monthly - (1): Staying fresh. It looks like I'll have to do something different on my working days.
Getting tired and playing too passive at those times. Some power sleep
can be used and probably will have to do some sports. Even walks might help, I guess.

Weekly - (1): Planing the hand. I still have to work on this, but the
main idea now is to put opponents on ranges more efficiently and
go from there. [Posting hands might be a good idea].

Weekly challenge - (2) Paying attention to bet sizes and timing.
Well, big = strong, small = weak, fast = Villain has a plan and doesn't
fear me, slow = everything, but usually not nuts.
There are good times and bad times for me with this challenge.
Not sure if I need it too much. I'll think about it.

Thank you, gentleman.

Indeed, I like blogs. They are always here and that's awesome.

Anyway, I forgot to mention. Now, there will be only two weakly and monthly
challenges:

M-1: Staying fresh.
When I'm well rested, my C-game is gone.

W-1: Planing the hand.
What's his range? What's my goal in this hand?
Achieve the goal and then comes the next hand.

W-3: Deleted.
The last one can be added to W-1.

I've experienced many ways of tilt and now I feel more confident about it.
As stupid it may sound, but tilting a lot is a huge opportunity to get
better at not doing it so much or that often as it was earlier.

See, I've been tilting about 50% of my playing time (for example).
And after playing about 225k hands this year, it could be 100k hands of
tilting. But I feel good about it, because I know myself better now and I'm
prepared for my C-game. It's getting better, because my strategy works.

There are many ways of tilt, but I wanted to talk about two of these.
Those are aggressive vs passive.

Of course, I've been in both ends of the scale and if I'd have to choose
between both, I'd choose the aggressive one. That's because, when I'm
on a passive tilt, I might as well be sleeping and there is no way out of it.
Just go to sleep. Zzzz.

Being on aggro tilt is better, because I can take a 5 min break, maybe
more. Play something non poker related and return to my game quite
fast. Also, being aggressive still means, that I notice more stuff that
happens at the tables.

The trick is to go in between the both. And when I have it seen it so
many times, then I can not only say, when I'm very aggro or very lazy,
I can actually feel, when I'm slightly more active or slightly more sleepy
compared to my A-game. There are many shades of grey, so to speak.

GL and HF! ;)

After playing on FT and PS I see that PS is way better,
just because of many more players.
Now I'll be playing only on PS.
Now NL25, no more Zoom, no more Rush.
They are beatable, but I've a gigger edge over normal tables
and also my $/h seems to be higher. Plus, I can learn more about
my opponents.

I'll have my database tested soon by one of the coaches.
Main improvement I seek is BTN winrate.
I also suggest to look at this thread to everyone, who is interested:
Private Coaching: NL BSS SH and FR NL2 to NL100 with Bogdan - Database Analysis
The coach is BogdanPS.

Challenges:

M-1: Staying fresh.

W-1: Big pots = big hands, small pots = small hands.
