Hi!

The opponent is opening 53% from the BU, he folds to 3bets 50% and has a 4bet range of 9% on the BU.

Against these smallish 4bets, how do you react? I mean, 5bet shoving with hands such as TT, AQ, etc. gets a bit expensive. Would you call with your premium range as well to protect your entire range and only play call or fold? would you develop a mini5bet range? With which kind of hands?

Postflop, I had a note that on a earlier hand he checked behind flop, fold turn on a Kxx board on a 4bet pot. So that's why I ended up folding. I also thought that he would likely shove turn as a bluff instead of doing small bets. And I suppose that having that read, I should rather call 4bets with 89s, T9s type of hands instead of KJ...

Thanks!

Hi,

Oop I would most likely either 3-bet/fold or 3-bet/shove.
I don´t think you can play KJ profitable and even on good rundowns you might make bad folds.
If player is 4-bet happy then likely I would just call pre-flop. You get good odds and you don´t blow the pot, also if he wants to mess with you, he would most likely 4-bet bluff a lot or if calling then floating/raising a lot postflop and most of the times KJ is not hand that you want to play for stacks.
Once you call I think c/c him down is fine.
He should barrel all his A high flushdraws for 3 streets and since most of the times he is not going to 4-bet with small Kx hands or 74s/72s hands then you´re only loosing to KK/AK/AA and some flush combos.

best regards,
