Usually I don`t play fd this hard, but given that this flop misses all the broadway cards and I could easily have a set, I think this was a good place to go broke because of fe of this raise and the fact that he usually doesn`t have sets in his range?

I like it for the same reasons as yours.
When he shoves, we usually go broke against overpairs, 87, 8xdd and some lower FDs so we are doing fine.

Hey HM10,

Preflop defend is fine. 4bet/fold can sometimes be a stronger option due to being OOP. We prefer villain's range to be quite wide here before flatting AJs OOP, since even if we have a slightly equity edge we will have an inherent postflop disadvantage due to being OOP.

Ordinarily x/r is fine with the intention of going broke. The additional stack depth makes it awkward here since villain will be bluff shoving over the top with a lower frequency. It should be ok though especially if villain has a tendency to make regular sized 3bets. Flatting OOP is still a decent option - the additional stack depth improves our implied odds when holding nut-flush-draw.
