Hey, villain unknown.

What would be your river sizing?

Would you consider any other line vs u/k?

I thought with some GS, OESD & BDFD missing I have plenty of value from all Qx.

What is the worst hand you 3 barrel for value?

BTN: $102 (102 bb)
SB: $83 (83 bb)
BB: $104.26 (104.3 bb)
UTG: $49.75 (49.8 bb)
MP: $95.74 (95.7 bb)
Hero (CO): $100 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q A
2 folds, Hero raises to $2.73, BTN calls $2.73, 2 folds

Flop: ($6.96) Q 3 9 (2 players)
Hero bets $5, BTN calls $5

Turn: ($16.96) 2 (2 players)
Hero bets $10.50, BTN calls $10.50

River: ($37.96) 4 (2 players)
Hero bets $17.50, BTN raises to $60, Hero folds

Results:

Spoiler

$72.96 pot ($2.80 rake)
Final Board: Q 3 9 2 4
BTN mucked and won $70.16 ($34.43 net)
Hero mucked Q A and lost (-$35.73 net)

On the river, bet/folding any size looks worse than x/c to me. X/c looks a little worse than x/f too.

I think come the river he'd have and be bluffing pretty much all busted broadway gutshots with a Ah or Kh. Which seems doubtful to me. He probabaly only has suited busted OESD's (is he really calling JTo preflop?) too. I can see a 10+ flushes.

What worse is he calling the river with? KQ? Maybe KQ with K of hearts, thats about all? And that's only 3 combos and he might 3b or fold that anyway. He certainly doesn't need to with any Qx with all the flushes he should have.

Does it even make any sense to have betting range on the river?

Even the lower suited connectors/gappers like 56s,75s that made flushes for hero are pretty close to AQ as villain probably doesnt have much AQ (he'd 3b preflop).

And I don't see any point in betting say a Kx high flush that beats villains lower flushes, because he's going to bet them anyway.

Thanks man.

When I was talking about the busted draws though I was thinking that my range could consist of a lot of these busted draws, so he might look me up fairly light.
Rather than him bluffing busted draws.

Interesting thought about not betting the river with as strong as Khxh. If his river range is mostly flushes that would bet & maybe some other SD value, wouldn't you rather control the bet sizing & not risk him checking back something that would call a standard sizing?

Thanks again :)

Ah, I see what you mean about the busted draws now.
Maybe hero not opening TJo preflop? Probably not opening 45s.

That leaves KJo, KTo for missed gutshots, 3 T9s combos for missed OESD. Some AKo, AJo, ATo with A:h for bd/fds.

3 barreling bluffing with the K:h in the KJo, KTo blocks more Qx hands than flushes, so isn't the best bluffing candidate.

If we bet the river with all our AQ and all our flushes below K:h, that's 29 combos and should have great equity verse his continuing range.
We need about 3 of the A:h hands for x/r bluffs, so lets save the AKo ones for that. So then we have 6 A:h combos left from AJo & ATo. We could chuck in those 3 9Ts, they dont help, but they dont hurt too much and we dont really have anything better that I can see?, assuming A9o didnt get this far. For a total of 9 bluff combos.

That looks fine for a 90% pot size bet.

Against a fish I think your betting size is fine. I don't think it's too great verse a reg though. I'd bet the turn bigger too, the turn and river bet sizing just screams call me with Q high, but pls no better sir.

So I think that's better than just having a checking range on the river, coz we get some money now from those 9 bluffs.
