Hi. You are good in most cases. Also you don't have stack to raise an play postflop. So shove is best option here. Nice hand.

Good luck at tables :f_cool:

Hi Swordmaster34,

This is a completely standard, good, solid play. before you go all in there is almost 1000 chips in the pot - a quarter of your stack. to put it in perspective, if you lose 100% of the time when he calls, you only have to make him fold a little over 3/4 of the time. however, you have 99, so not only will he fold at least 50% of the time, when he calls you have the best hand an overwhelming majority of the time. this time he had AJ (which you're still ahead of) but alot of the time he will just have hands like 55, J8s, A7o etc. 99 is a super strong hand in this spot and i would shove almost any pair in this spot (expecting to get a fold out of him alot, and when he calls have 50% equity alot too).

Good play, bad result, but if you get into this spot again don't hesitate to make the same play!

(just as an outline, in this spot i'd shove 22+, A7+, KJs+, KQ, QJs)

Gl at the tables
