First Cash in Live game, Hand Help

Hey guys,

Just wanted to say I made my first live cash on tuesday in a local casino game. €15 buy in, Won €95 for 2nd, Should of made a deal would of got a min of €125 but it happens. Its my first ever live cash and only my 4th live game.

Just wanted to tell you as ive learned quite alot from this site, and I know it was instramental to my game.

Made a stupid call which id like some info on.

I was chip leader with 25k in chips, Villan had 10k in Chips

Hero delt : 8H8D

Villain: A3C's

Opened with a 1k Raise, blinds where 200/400

Villain Called, Flop was AD 4D 10D

I check, Villain Raised to 2.5K

I called and flop came down 8C

Villain went all in, to whick I called, Flop was Kc

Busted Villain but a few people said it was a bad call on the raise from the flop, some said it was a good call. Im still in two ways about it, how would some of you of played that hand? I had 11 outs I think and the odds made sence to call at the time, was I correct on making the call and the all in?

Well, I do not think it was a good call. When you get raised on that flop you have 11 outs if you could see his hole cards. But he could have a higher diamond, so if you hit your flush, you still lose. He could also already have a flush, so if you hit your 8 you could lose too. Basically, you are not drawing to the nuts, but have a very weak flush draw and a weak pair (3rd pair, since A or T beats you on flop) so it should be an easy fold after you get raised.

But congrats on the win. Everyone makes mistakes, its just important to learn from them which you're clearly trying to do by posting about it :f_thumbsup:

yeah x/f the flop IMO. Draw is weak so I don't see x/c as an option to try to make a flush, plus you don't get the right price and you're OOP. In general live players are a lot more loose and passive so bluffing is out of the question on that board.

You only invested 2.5bb and you have a decent stack, not a big deal IMO.

Cheers for the input guys, I'll be working on this now as I find I have a issue with chasing cards, plus I have to learn abit about card ranges and what to with my hold cards more and in what positions to play them in.

Back to the courses I go :)
