villain was a unknown reg at that time.
is this the best play ? are we only trying to fold AK on the turn? i think QQ ships it pre-flop

Your line would only be good if you think he folds pocket pairs to the Turn jam (like 88-JJ).
Would he play like that with those hands PF? Maybe and maybe not.

Some other options are to

1. check-call the Flop: No better hand folds, few better hands call = no good reason to bet
2. bet Flop check-call Turn: If you think he calls Flop with enough floats like AJ/KQ/AQ and will bluff the Turn with those hands

Without reads if you have a balanced gameplan involving some flop checks with overpairs you shouldn't be overly worried about getting bluffed out of the hand.
