On this wet board I would value bet it to protect against draw. You could still call a raise, but at least you then know he has a strong hand.

However, shoving this hand is definitely EV+

Your apporach to stack a LAG player will not pay you off. Well the definition of LAG player is loose and agressive, but not stupid. When u first show the weakness and then suddenly u ready to put it in he wiil see that through and fold most of his range. U do really rep a monster by choosing this line. If you really want to stack a LAG player u need to bet yourself to get raised. And this board is perfect for that. If your bet yourself LAG player could think its a c-bet form AK/AQ and can raise you there with draws, pairs etc. If he raises big enough u can shove assuming he is commited with the hand like 109, 810, QJ etc. When he raises smaller you can choose to slowplay and to call his raise to get him stacking on later streets. The only disadvantage of this line is that the turn card like 9 or Q can kill your action. Most of the times bet the flop, let him raise you and get it in.

Looking back, cbetting the flop really makes sense here. I would have lost the hand anyway, but at least I would have played it right.

C-betting is definitely the correct move here. You will have a hard time stacking a lag here, so i think betting flop and maybe checking turn to make it seem like you were just c-betting to take it down. Then you can bet river and get called by a wider range of hands. Higher set is very unlikely so trying to shove here is correct as you will win most of the time.

So flop: C-bet/call
turn: Check/raise (By checking you get more cash from floaters aswell) You should try to build up a pot here to shove on the river.
River: shove if turn was check raise and bet if villain checked back.

Yup, Cbet the hand. The board is so wet you get action from all kinds of draws, combo draws, and fish trying to protect AJ etc.

Also, if you are checkraising your sets, decent players will realize your Cbets are NOT sets.

Cbetting your sets adds deception to your game. Players don't know if your Cbet is an overpair, a set, a draw, or air.
