Less than 30 to go to the money.

It says, $0.01 BI, but it is really a freeroll.
25000 players.

SB and BTN have been extremely active and aggressive, but have folded to my open raises before.

My stack is somewhat less than average, but not too much -- I think avg is around 12K.

Poker Stars, $0.01 Buy-in (200/400 blinds, 80 ante) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 8 Players

SB: 13,868 (34.7 bb)
BB: 4,429 (11.1 bb)
UTG+2: 4,361 (10.9 bb)
MP1: 9,295 (23.2 bb)
Hero (MP2): 9,935 (24.8 bb)
MP3: 5,898 (14.7 bb)
CO: 6,860 (17.2 bb)
BTN: 55,479 (138.7 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with T:s K:s
UTG+2 calls 400, MP1 folds, Hero raises to 1,600, 5 folds, UTG+2 calls 1,200

Flop: (4,440) T:c 2:c 7:s (2 players)
UTG+2 checks, Hero bets 2,959, UTG+2 folds

Questions:
Is this too loose an open, given the proximity of the bubble, and the active players behind me?
CBet sizing ? This Bet puts UTG+2 all-in.

TIA,

I'm a beginner at this but here's my stab at it.

Borderline chips at around 25bb with KsTs being at the lower end of my range.
However, does hero want to raise/fold here if one the active players attacks yet again, say the BU? I could be mistaken, but I don't think we should call it off with that stack size.

My thought is with dead money in the pond, to discourage the bullies, just shove to isolate the fish. Folding is always an option of course but usually my last one near the bubble stage.
I may be a bit aggro.

People in these seem to fold to a raise more than they fold to a shove.
That is just my impression, it may or may not be true.

I'm trying to be more aggressive, and make the bubble factor work for me, instead of against me, but even so, I'm not shoving KTs with 25 BB. In the past, I would have folded this.

Even if I raise/fold this I still have 20BB, which is lots to work with.

With a raise, I might get called by the bullies, but I do carry a tight image.

Cheers,

30 people to the money says nothing without telling how many people itm.
if 3000 people itm, it is very close to the bubble. but if just 30 people itm, then it is far away from the bubble.

in first case you can just limp behind, hoping to outplay villains postflop in position. also just folding very close to the bubble is ok.

if your iso-raise, i would just raise to 1200. it does the same job. i would cbet put villain all-in on almost all flops.

True, but I'm pretty sure with 25000 players, it is around 3600 or 3750 -- I don't remember which.

I don't like limping behind, BTN shoves, then what?

But good points. Thanks!

then it is an easy fold, of course. much easier than if you raise and btn shoves...
