Problem is should I narrow villains range here or expand it because folding or calling 98o is pretty close. Can we make it a good game?

Versus most decent regs this is more or less mandatory call. Most are going to be shoving at least nash as it's not such rare situation that BB is going to be too tight in these spots. I could go for close to any2 in SB shoes if I have tight player or not so good reg reads on BB.

Though I have no idea of how average regs in these stakes play these days. How I tend to evaluate similar spots is to look villain overall stats and his late position steal stats. But even if villain has been somewhat passive in stealing doesn't mean he would be that tight in here with such short stack.

We should adjust according to players we play. That's especially true for deeper stacks-8bb and more. As a lot of players will play AA,KK,QQ, strong Ax differently from openshoving. Or middling hands-by limping, there is more room for actions. However, him being that short, I believe most ppl will just shove their entire range here, so adjusting goes to the part of whether we believe they r gonna be tighter than nash or looser. I believe nowadays most players are quite loose in that spot, so calling similar to nash will be good.
