SB: $1.68 (33.6 bb)
Hero (BB): $2 (40 bb)
UTG: $8.44 (168.8 bb)
MP: $6.98 (139.6 bb)
CO: $9.64 (192.8 bb)
BTN: $9.64 (192.8 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A A
UTG raises to $0.15, 3 folds, SB calls $0.13, Hero raises to $0.45, UTG calls $0.30, SB folds

Flop: ($1.05) J A 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks

Turn: ($1.05) 2 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.55, UTG calls $0.55

River: ($2.15) 6 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.50, UTG raises to $1.82, Hero calls $0.50 and is all-in

Results:

Spoiler

$4.15 pot ($0.27 rake)
Final Board: J A 8 2 6
Hero mucked A A and lost (-$2 net)
UTG showed 3 5 and won $3.88 ($1.88 net)

Flop: the board is safe so I induce him to bet
Turn: a heart showed up so I bet to protect my hand
River: only flush can beat me so IMO it was a must-call
I did mot feel comfortable with this hand at all. Please advise me how I can play this hand correctly. Does check flop fine or I must raise in that safe board.
Thank you.

Hi apollo540419

Preflop: you are playing short but OOP you can 3-bet bigger.

Postflop: Checking flop is fine but then bet turn and shove river. Don't play afraid of the flush AND then pay it off. Play to get max value from the Ax and other pairs.
