River: ($1.87) 9 (2 players)

Was I correct to check back this turn? I think I would get value from AK-AJ, JJ but these hands and weaker 2pairs will probably bet river. Plus FDs and SDs complete so I don't want to get raised.

Not a 9 handed guy, but with A :club: K :club: J :club: on the board, what kind of flush draws villain could have? Str8s are pretty rare too. Bet turn all day, there are a ton of 2p, pair+draw combos than nuts.

As played I'll even raise river for value.

Hey guys,

Betting turn would be ok, betting turn large would be a mistake though imo. Strongest option is probably to underbet turn in this particular instance. 2nd best option is to check. Worst option is to bet big.

w34z3l how would you respond if he raises our small bet? Do you think betting small will induce raises from worse hands sometimes?

On the river should we bet small for value again?

Thanks.

Keep in mind that we still have a pretty reasonable draw often with 20% equity or so. One advantage to betting small on turn is we increase the probability we can profitably call a raise based on our pot-odds/implied-odds.

And yeah, sometime we can v-bet river but it's very important to keep sizing small.
