The Gist of it:

I flop top 2 pair on JJA board, turn and river brick, villain bluff shoves his busted flush draw, I fold.

This spot was tricky for me, i had no reads on the villain (only 30 hands or so, seemed like a LAG player, which is pretty normal in these $1.50 hypers). It never occured to me that villain could be overshoving busted draws (which actually makes sense in hindsight). I did some work in equilab and came to the conclusion that this is a call (open for any input ), because there are a limited number of Jx hands he could have if he's calling a raise, and much more Ax type hands which I dominate.

Completely ignoring the busted flush draws, I have 60-65% equity against his range which I assume to be J9+, A5+, 22-66, and broadways.

At the time, I panicked and immediately assumed he had Jx when he shoved the river, but now I look at it, it makes no sense for him to shove there and scare away my Ax, and even a fish would switch to slowplay mode, maybe bet smaller on the river. So he basically never has a jack here. Maybe he'd overbet with Ax hands, but I crush most of those in his range (assuming he'd reraise pre with AJ+).

Regardless, I made a mistake by not betting the turn when it bricked. At the time, flush draws hadn't even occured to me, my thought process was: "Okay, if he's calling me, he either has a Jack or an Ace" which was narrow minded thinking.

Any input is greatly appreciated :)

Well if you have reads that villain is laggy then river call is ok. If villain is balanced his river overbet range should be pretty much Jx, AQ+ (possibly) and some busted flush draws. If we think that he might do this with worse Ax then calling is mandatory imo.

But personally I would not go too far into thinking villain would not play Jx this way as to scare away Ax. Fish tend to do these plays that they trap slowplay and when turn goes checked and they want to get all chips in the pot so they shove.

Versus passive looking villain I would bet-fold turn, but versus aggro one we dont want to do that as he might have some semibluffs there so I am ok with turn check.

Thanks for the perspective Ghaleon.
I actually re-calculated my equity on the river after I was told by another player that perhaps the river shove is polarized: either a monster or complete air. So I took out all the Ax in his range and substituted his bluff range (busted draws) and Jx hands, and it's basically 50/50 bluff to monster ratio (i think equilab spat out 55% equity). So if he has a bluff half the time and a monster the other half of the time, i think it's still a call due to the pot odds.
And yeah I didn't really have much of a read on him, but his stats were leaning towards the laggy side of things.

This.

TheFireBeard - With flop zila and programs like this you can see exactly the range that he should have there for you to call profitable.
