its a questionable 3bet pre, but he had been raising most SB so I decided to take a stand, especially as we were so deep

Could I fire again at the blank turn, or cb as he has r/c pre and also called a flop cbet so he that flop must have hit him on some level?
Should I cb the river? When he checked I thought he might have a 6 or 8 so decided to put him AI

It's not a questionable 3bet pre. It's a bad 3bet pre This is a hand you never want to turn into a bluff, I call all day, all night.

On the flop-good run out for us. 2 overs, a gutter, not bad.

I bet smaller, I go for about 650 chips or 1/3 of the top. That is my default size on dry boards and in general.

Turn is not great, but I believe most people will shove a pair of 8x on the flop, so I will continue firing. You have Thigh, so it's no good. That's why I like to size my cbet smaller, so that I have more space postflop.

Once again, you should avoid situations like this by flatting hands that flat well and not turn them into bluffs.
