Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players

SB: $13.81 (138.1 bb)
BB: $10.97 (109.7 bb)
MP: $10 (100 bb)
CO: $14.61 (146.1 bb)
Hero (BTN): $11.55 (115.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with K T
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.25, SB folds, BB calls $0.15

Flop: ($0.55) 8 Q J (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.30, BB calls $0.30

Turn: ($1.15) 6 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.80, BB calls $0.80

River: ($2.75) J (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $2

Villain was an unknown. I feel happy with PF, Flop and Turn play but I need help with spots to fire the third barrel. On River I think villains range is mostly 1 pair hands (AQ,KQ,QT,Q9,99,TT,77) as I think (AK,KK,QQ) 3bet PF, and if he has a straight/set/trips/house he may have raised flop or turn for value and is likely to fire the river himself in case I check back my showdown value hands.

Therefore I decided to bluff the river. Was this a good idea and was it right sizing?

Thank you

Hi RolledUpAces

Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: Ask yourself what you are targeting here. It looks to me like his range is either Jx, Qx or some random draw. You beat most random draws.

So can he really fold Qx? Jx is going nowhere.
