Hello,

The problem lies in SB's range, he is capable winning SNG player on PKR network, an aggressive one. The other involved players are fishes (spew etc). Would you call the shove from the reg here on the flop given that he is a bit shorter and might be playing worse hand this way? (I have a problem assigning him a range I am ahead of apart from FD) Or is it fine to fold and not get involved in close spots early on?

PKR, $30 Buy-in (50/100 blinds) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: 6,700 (67 bb)
Hero (BB): 10,000 (100 bb)
UTG: 10,000 (100 bb)
MP: 14,400 (144 bb)
CO: 10,000 (100 bb)
BTN: 8,900 (89 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J K
2 folds, CO raises to 300, BTN calls 300, SB calls 250, Hero calls 200

Flop: (1,200) 7 K 6 (4 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, CO bets 600, BTN calls 600, SB raises to 6,400 and is all-in, 3 folds

Preflop call is ok, but with KJo in 4way pot you are aiming to hit strong to get into big pot (versus decent opponents). If SB had folded I would just call and evaluate from there. When SB shoves best possibility should be some sort of combo draw, e.g. A :spade: 6 :spade:, 8 :spade: 9 :spade: and perhaps some bit weaker draws. I would not expect decent player to shove any weaker made hands in such spot, but he could easily have hands like 66, 77 and 67s. Maybe some KQ if he thinks other villains are fishy enough to call with lot of weaker hands.

don't go broke with 1 pair in multi-way pots. just c/fold to this action. You can play a small pot with top pair by either bet/folding flop or c/calling small bets and evaluating further streets. You do not want to go broke with this hand, especially against a good player.
