I think this is a lot more likely a call than your other set of 8s. I'm not super happy about calling here but sometimes villain has 2p or pair + straight draw and we still have some equity vs made straights.

I don't agree with you that often he has TT, because he called your flop check raise. I don't see why you checkraised in the first place, its not a particularly drawy board and you get him to fold some hands he might bet the turn with. I much prefer x/c flop and x/r turn if it brings a lot of draws, if it doesn't even x/c turn and x/r river.

Some statistics on villain would be very helpful here. Vs unknown I think I call here. There's not much point set mining if we're just gonna put in a decent chunk of our stack and fold the set. If villain really does have a nutted hand like QQ/KK/AJ here, why is he in such a hurry to get the money in on the turn?

I agree sir.
I put what probably is his hand range in equilab (JJ+,AJs,KQs,AJo,KQo) and my 33 has 50,6% equity so this should have been a call.
And yea the board was too dry to c/r flop.
