Hello!

IPoker, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: $5.40 (54 bb)
BB: $11.58 (115.8 bb)
Hero (UTG): $10 (100 bb)
MP: $10.05 (100.5 bb)
CO: $10.81 (108.1 bb)
BTN: $10.49 (104.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 7 7
Hero raises to $0.30, MP calls $0.30, 4 folds

Flop: ($0.75) 9 9 J (2 players)
Hero bets $0.50, MP folds

I'm posting this because would like to hear what would be a general approach in situations like this? I can't expect much folds to cbets, but I don't want to just check/fold because I have the best hand often enough. Check/call to bluffcatch will make our live dificult on later streets. Bet/fold or something else?

Hi aleen,

Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: why not start with the opponent? What do we know? What range do we have him on?

Check/folding is best when you have an aggro opponent that will put you in difficult spots. bet/folding is good when you expect to take down the pot often with one bet.

Ok! I posted this to hear a general approach against different opponents, which I got, so thanks! :) Against this particular player, i decided for a one bet and give up, as you suggested.
