I don't think I should have cbet flop there. We have pretty weak backdoors and any of the cards that do give us a gutshot aren't really good barrel cards for us.

As played though do you reckon check/raising is ok vs his floats. And maybe even fold some of his small pairs?

Hi legand,

Giving up is definitely an option vs guys taht will have a hard time laying down enough cards and if you don't plan to barrel often.

But he has shown a tendency to fold and you can get him to fold some equity in the pot + we can bet some turns/rivers in a spot where his range is generally weak.

As played people won't respect those ck/raises on random cards like that especially when you just min raise.

Would $6 be better? I thought that just slightly over a minimum raise of $4.44 would be fine. I thought the 3 might have been a bad card to do this on. This is also why the cbet seemed a bit more questionable to me as if i'm check/raising gutshots but the cards that give me a gutshots aren't high cards or good cards to raise then the check/raise plan (or double barrel for that matter) isn't that great.

Look at the line you are taking and try to put yourself in his shoes...

How does your line really look like? Value? Maybe if you are a fish...

But really, look at the overall line.

You may get some random hands to fold (floats) but I doubt many better hands lay down there.
