Here is my thought. The bet on the flop seems week (possible draw) thats why I raise him. And check back on the turn is obvious that I give up and he is free to bluff me.
I know 55 on a multiway pot is not something strong. But do you think there is call on the turn? He plays like he hit the Q but he bets too strong.
Another line could be to re-raise bigger on the flop and snap shove on the turn. How about that?
