NL2 deep: bottom set in multiway pot

Honestly, I always sit out if there is big stack behind me and I'm deep also of course, unless he is a huge whale. In this case, ott, safely fold against the overbet of CO against 2 players.

It´s a deep table, I buy in for 250 bbs by default like most others. No reason to sit out:f_cool:
It´s not a huge overbet, and basically all in. I am very often ahead of the sb here.

With 2possible oversets, with the straight draw completed, with possible FD and in a mw pot you are not that much ahead.

I want to give you an advice for free : Learn the basics with 100BB stack. Play for some time and start feeling comfortable playing that way. Then you can make transition to deepstack tables. I mean no harm but you lack basic understanding and this way you will lose more money than you make, cause a big part of your game will be pure gambling...
Try 100 BB please and give some feedback.

I think a few times in your last hands I wrote you that you should pick your spots for aggression better. You have a situation to call, but you raise instead.
In this hand you must raise, but you call.
I am not a master of the game but I think that it will be much cheaper for you to play 100 BB deep and learn to play to a level that you feel comfortable and play while understanding what is happenning and how to react to different situations.

I honestly appreciate the help because I want to become better. It´s just not easy to be told to lack basic understanding without that being elaborated. But now you did, even though it is still a bit generalistic. No need to apologize. Maybe you are right and I should go back to 100 bb poker but I had beaten the NL2 100 bbs tables and before moving up NL5 I wanted to beat the deep tables at NL 2. That was the plan.

This is a bad plan. If you beat 100BB NL2, move straight to 100BB NL5.
In lacking basics, I mean basic play in deepstack tables. It is not the same as normal tables and there are some adjustments you should make. Some hands move up in value, some you should discount.
I honestly think you should go back to normal tables and try to move up limits.

Ok, guys, what would be the best play in this hand? Should we raise/fold the flop? Or we should call three streets if the board would be safe (and this turn is not particularly safe, but I believe call is still fine)? Or are we going to fold right away on the flop (I supose not)?

It's a stupid idea with a set, of course. I didn't look the hand carefully. We can't check the flop, obviously. But should we call rather than raise, since we are deep? With midle set I believe we should raise/shove.

i am curious why, with a flush draw and str8 draw on the board, u call the flop? either u get aggressive there or fold it, but calling to give two other opponents the chance to hit str8 or flush? i can't say i would fold it, since there is no completed str8 or flush on the board, but calling with three people in the pot i would not have done.

Ok, I did not consider the board super-dangerous. Only a spade on the turn would really scare me. Ok, 89 is obviously one possible hand in villains´ranges, but I thought I could play it slow on the flop an raise a non-spade turn. The 5 is not the best turn in the world but I still thought I should be ahead often enough to raise. With hindsight, my hand seems rather vulnerable in this spot but I am not sure if that is result-oriented thinking Except for 89, I am already behind on the flop if I am behind. And then I would chalk it up as a cooler even deep-stacked. But agreed: raising the flop certainly seems like the principled play.
