Those spots are always tough, even the pots are small. I don't want to give up just like that and the hands seems a bit too weak for check/calling. In addition, there is maybe still a need for protection.

I like bet folding too. There are still draws we can charge.

What I am saying is that second pocket pair generally don't like to face strong raises. The bigger the raise, the less the second pocket pairs like it. There is no analysis and no stats in the world that can deduce a call here, and you know that very well. If you have some leveling war going on with your opponent, then it is your leveling war. That is why I said it is a waste of time.

You might consider bluff-catching with JJ here, and maybe all sets in your range. If you want to go wider, by any means do so if you think he does this with much more than made sets/straights and an occasional good draw. But if you want to go as wide as second pair, then you have to appeal to voodoo, not hand reading.

Do you call a min-raise here? Perhaps, and suppose you do. Then there is a raise size larger than the minimum where you begin folding TT here, right? Don't you agree that it would be senseless beyond reason to at some "magical size" begin calling again?

Fold or not to the raise is not a question for me, at all, of course. I was just wondering would checking be better instead of betting. I guess not. Thanks for the analysis!

Definitely check the turn then evaluate. Judging by his stats, he doesn't fold to a turn cbet and 10-10 on such a board is a very thin value bet. won't fold, sets won't fold. Maybe lower pairs won't fold either, but us, the real poker players, don't have that much gamble in us ♦
