I am not sure if this was a fold, but i thought that the overbet was nonsensical. I think i made a mistake checking the turn, and i am still not convinced of my call.

Bet bigger otf in mw pot on such a wet flop. Something around 2.25$, bet ott, check back otr. As played I would call too and take a note. But that's very close and thin call.

no infos on opp exept you have doubled up on that table and that guy played more than 1 hand as he is 130bb, not even vpip and pfr ( you can get an ipression in 5-10 hands)

unknown regular... his cold calling range is unknown

VS a looser guy i would assume his range:
KK, AsAc, QdQh, QdQc, QhQc, ThTs, ThTc, TsTc, AcQc, KdQd, KhQh, KcQc, AsQd, AsQh, AsQc, AcQd, AcQh
i dropped down AQ and KQ. and 3 combos of KK from his range because why would he bet that on river. So it remains:
AsAc,KdKc,KhKc,KsKc,QdQh,QdQc,QhQc,ThTs,ThTc,TsTc
your equity vs this is 35%
pot odds 38% so folding would be an option especially vs unknown.

VS tighter players it is even more -EV

I agree, i put myself in a wierd spot checking the turn, also giving draws a free card. And i should have bet bigger otf.

if you have info that he is pretty aggro i think turn is ok to check otherwise we might face a x/r. but you don't have info so don't get fancy play syndrome - just bet-bet-decide.

as played i think it's a fold and he will show up with QTs or QQ, TT. Occasionally you'll probably see a busted FD. You did underrep your hand a bit on the turn so he might decide to try and push you off a weak ish hand but in order to do that I'm not sure if he will overbet. also i don't think you have too much weak SDV here so you either have total air (folds to small river stab) or something stronger which won't fold to an overbet. looks more like he was just going for a xr on the turn and decided to go for max val on the river.

when things are nonsensical it doesn't mean we should turn into stations. i think turning into a "nit" is better.
