UTG+1 shows T♠ A♥ (One Pair, Threes) (Pre 50%, Flop 50%, Turn 50%)
BB wins 5.01 BB
UTG+1 wins 5 BB

Hello!
My question is that: Does it make sense to call or 3bet here to this UTG+1 raiser? Are there any opportunities in each play? Advantages, disadvantages. Or is it just a simple fold as I did that?
Thank you in advance.

Hi, sikRS
My vote: Simple fold.
You asked for choices though.
You are OOP. UTG plays 16/9 over a reasonable sample so has a fairly strong range.
(I used a standard 6-max UTG open-raise range for this)

You're a 2:1 underdog here:

       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    64.29%  62.05%   2.25% { 77+, ATs+, KQs, AJo+, KQo }
MP3    35.71%  33.46%   2.25% { ATo }

Your stack is too big for 3Bet shoving (and even if it was down in that range I might not)

So good fold IMO.

I'm interested in what others say, since I recognize I play tournaments way tighter than most.

Peace,
VS

Thank you I think the same. And what do you think, what would be the good game with AQs? Call or a nonshove 3bet?
With AK I would call I think.

Hi, sikRS
Do you have Equilab?
If not, I suggest getting it -- it's free.

AQ

       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    51.99%  46.24%   5.75% { 77+, ATs+, KQs, AJo+, KQo }
MP3    48.01%  42.26%   5.75% { AQo }

AK

       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    44.56%  38.91%   5.66% { 77+, ATs+, KQs, AJo+, KQo }
MP3    55.44%  49.78%   5.66% { AKo }

As you can see, AQ and AK are flips against the ranges I chose
If UTG is much more loose, then the equity improves, if UTG is tighter, the equity is less.

In this PARTICULAR case, BB is so short that he is going to chuck his chips in with ATC.

So let's include that:

       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    41.85%  38.85%   3.00% { 77+, ATs+, KQs, AJo+, KQo }
SB     34.23%  31.10%   3.13% { ATs+, ATo+ }
BB     23.92%  23.37%   0.55% { random }

So assuming BB adds his chips, the situation becomes:
Pot: 2.38 BB
+ UTG 3BB = 5.38 BB
+ BB's remaining 3.4 BB = 8.38 BB

So you're getting pot odds of 8.38:3 or 2.8 : 1
Your equity is 34%
Opponents equity is 66% so 2 : 1

So because of the dead money, you might consider calling.

Some other considerations:
:diamond:  You cover UTG. If you call pre, and UTG shoves, then what? If you call pre, and UTG calls BB, will he fold to a re-shove from you?
:diamond:  You're actually chip leader. Do you need to do anything at all with marginal advantage? Is it better to let the shorter stacks destroy themselves? <== we're back where we started -- just fold. _biggrin:

Cheers,
VS

Looks like a fine analyze to me VS and in a 9 man you need to play tighter than in a regular tournament as well with ICM at the start of the game.

Just to correct VS. Its UTG+1 and his stats are 24/20 but its on small sample. But anyway his range seems reasonable and I would fold too and wait for better spot.

It would be nice to know UTG+1 raise first stat from early position. If villain is as active from EP as his vpip/pfr shows, you can 3bet shove or just 3bet if he`s not flatting much 3bets. But with these infos I would tend to 3bet shove.
