I decided to call this because I was closing the action preflop in a multiway raised pot, but am I calling too big of a percentage of the effective stack preflop? Or do implied odds in a multiway pot justify this?
And on the flop, am I ever ahead here? Or should I play this with the intention of only continuing if I flop a set or better?

preflop as you close the action it is ok to call. Good impplied odds.

Against 3 players from which 2 are (almost) full stacks when you closing the action (= you now your final price to see flop) it´s OK

Make that 4 agreements.
275 BB deep, Open-raising 77 is fine.

To my way of thinking, if nobody calls MP's 3Bet, it is a fold from UTG unless I know MP well. With everyone else in there, it is perfect for set mining.

OTF:
Fold is correct. CO has overpair, trips or even a pair of 8s. If he's bluffing, wp him

Best of luck,
VS

Versus a tight CO range you can either fold or turn you hand into a big bluff, trying o make him fold AA/KK (can he ever?). That flop missed him. (The latter is very good for the variance:f_biggrin:)

by raising we are only repping like 88 which imo wouldn't raise on the flop

Some overpairs too. And 4x...

On second thought, I don't think we are deep enough here to ever see AA/KK actually fold. We must succeed > 50% of the time or resort to donk-bluffing (which is less expensive, but also less believable).

surely we don't have any 4x in this spot, I open A4s UTG but not calling 3ball with it even with the extra player calling OOP.

I can't see myself wanting to raise with like TT/JJ/QQ here vs two people with nit strong ranges and maybe we can do 88 because villian will think we are full of it but i'd still check call it and let him bomb the turn

I would fold, actually. Raising is a bit extreme for me.

3-bettor checks here and it's the whale min-bet-stabbing here. I seriously doubt he is going to fold better hands.
