completed flush on paired board

i ran this spot in my DB of facing flop raise with a FD, turn pairing check and either me bluffing river or calling and they just got it

Pretty nichie spot but i had several occurances where i was checking for spots i bluffed the river and yeah... OTR we are just crushed

when we get raised here it's such a bad spot for us, we are dominated by his flush draws (reverse implied) and we dont have good implied odds vs his sets because he's in position and can check back the river on the flush. Think it's a spot where playing the draw OOP is overall a redline / money burner and I'd probably say it's a bet/fold. Which makes me wonder if we want to bet/fold then maybe we should check call the non nut FD's because it sucks to face a raise. Bet/fold or check call IMO depending how we think the players are acting

Turn + river: Simple: If you check behind hoping to hit a flush, there is no way you can fold here. If you check behind "knowing" your opponent made a full house, you shouldn't play poker. You would be vulnerable to losing every hand, flush or no flush, just by your opponent betting. Call.

I largely agree we probably shouldn't fold turn/riv even though I think we are crushed way more than crushing but perhaps the mistake that caused us to be in the situation in the first place is on the flop

With 2 checks on flop we can bet with our hand.

I see nothing wrong in betting the flop. We have a decent draw and there is a big possibility that we will take the pot down right away. The turn is fine, I would say. No need to pump the pot and we probably don't have any fold equity. Considering his river sizing, it's probably close, but we can't easily fold now when we hit our flush.

In my opinion the mistake here is preflop. In order of moves I think Squeeze>Fold>Call

The tendency is to assume 98s plays well multiway but vs UTG and CO CC range its actually just going to be dominated a lot. You will always be on the wrong end of flush v flush and straight vs straight scenarios and usually will just have a weak pair against a strong range.

So I'd prefer squeeze unless UTG has low fold to 3bet and low fold to cbet in 3b pots.
