We only have 15 hands on villain and he seems tight-ish so far at 20/13 pre-flop.
Preflop my hand is too strong to fold on the BB v SB so my standard line is to just defend in position here. I don't like 3 betting with offsuit weak aces, even though we have an Ace blocker, we are turning a hand that plays well in position into a bluff needlessly.
On the flop we hit Jenga. My opponent CBets for half pot and I decide that flatting is the best option. There aren't many hands in my opponents range that can call a raise here and I get villian to fire some turns before I drop the hammer.
On the turn, my opponents overcards picked up equity, as did all of his spadey hands. Villain bets and I decide now is the time to raise and get value from my hand. I expect to get called by many flush draws, over+gutter, Jx, some strong Tx, and possibly a worse 4x sometimes and I definitely want to punish draws at this point and flatting is too risky. I make my sizing quite large to set up for a juicy river value bet.
On the river, we are faced with an interesting card. We are only really afraid of Jacks full and Tens full, though it would seem Tens full would probably bet /3bet turn. My opponent leads for just under half pot. My assumption with villains bet sizing is that villain is trying to blocker bet with either QQ-AA or possibly it's a cheap bluff with busted spades. Villain could just have the nuts here and be betting out so as not to miss value. NL2 villains do play pretty face up with the strong parts of their range usually. My instincts said shove and get value from his over pairs and worse 4x (turns out there is quite a bit in villains range assuming he steals a reggish amount from SB). On the other hand, the though crossed my mind that this all looks a bit weird, NL2 villains don't often bluff river and villain can definitely have Jx here a fair bit.
I put what I thought was a reasonable range into my equilab for what he might call a river shove with:
KK-QQ, AdAs, AdAc, AsAc, JhJc, TdTh, TdTs, ThTs, AcJc, JhTh, Ac4c, Kc4c, Qc4c, Jc4c, 6c4c, 5c4c, 4c3c, AdJh, AdJc, AsJh, AsJc, AcJh, Ad4c, As4c, Kd4c, Kh4c, Ks4c, JhTd, JhTs, JcTd, JcTh, JcTs
This is perhaps a little too optimistic upon reflection and even v this, we win at showdown when called 48%.
If our villain folds all overpairs, then we win only 20% of time when called.
I think a call is just much better overall, but I am not really sure.
