Don't know if this is a good steal...

Blinds:100/200
Stacks:
UTG - UTG (T3,178)
BTN - BTN (T6,563)
SB - Hero (T2,275)
BB - BB (T2,984)

Preflop: (T380, 4 players) Hero is SB with 8♠ 9♠
2 folds, Hero raises to T400, BB calls T200

Flop: 3♥ 2♣ Q♠ (T880, 2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets T440, 1 fold, Uncalled bet of T440 returned to BB

Total Pot: T880

A steal is fine I think, but I would shove here with a 11bb stack. It's likely you could end up in a ugly post-flop situation against him if you don't shove here.

A shove is much better than a bet. you can also bet and shove OTF and hope for a fold, flop is dry and and unlikely hits his range.

With 11bb , you can also just call pre, but this require often a much better post flop game and you will be OOP.

Thinking about it now, I believe it's better to shove or fold on the pre-flop.
Since I was just 11bb short, this is a clear steal and with this stack there, I shouldn't think about the post-flop game and decide the hand on the pre-flop.

Thanks for the input guys.

Minraise has better EV only if Villain is a complete nit, or if he is loose passive and folds very high frequency vs cbet, which you didn't do anyway. With no info it's safer to shove.
