My situation:
My name is Nico Prokic from Vienna (Austria); I turned 20 about 2 weeks ago and I´m still going to school, doing my A-levels in May. After that I´m going to do the mandatory army service. After finishing the army service I´m going either going to take 1 year or so and solely dedicate it to poker or I´m going to apply for university somewhere abroad straight away (If somebody does have recommendations, I appreciate it) and study business/entrepreneurship.
My poker story:
I used to play a card game called yu-gi-oh where I wasn´t bad at all (I even became the Austrian champion in 2013 ) me and my friends, who were pretty damn good, travelled to big tourneys in Europe every 5-6 weeks. I got into poker in November 2013, because I lost passion for yu-gi-oh and I realized that people made the transition to poker, so I gave it a shot. So far, I have played close to every format online, but couldn´t really find my niche and unfortunately never made it past the micros.
But now, this has to change,
I´m going to start with a BR of 250€ and build it up to 10k.
After that I´m going to make the transition to PLO
With my future poker earnings I´m going to do a few things.
1) Pay for university and use poker as my source of income
2) Build a big bankroll for making the transition into the business-world
3) Do something really cool at my 21st birthday with my friends
a. I´m thinking of travelling somewhere for 2 days or so with my best friends, having a big party, or rent something cool or so. I want to thank them because without them I´d be nothing.
4) Helping
In Vienna, especially on popular shopping miles, you see so many poor homeless people, and for soo many they are just invincible and get ignored which really really drives me crazy. I often see them on a daily basis and always give 5 or 6 of them 1€ each, but as a student, you really can´t afford more, but I would love to be able to do more.
I think those are things which will boost the motivation even more, because you simply know that you won´t be the only one who will benefit.
