Hello! I am particularly interested in what you think about my turn decision, but if you disagree with anything else or have some other thoughts please share.

So, I am on the BU and CO opens for 3bb. From what I have on him he looks pretty tight, but I decide to call with my JTs anyway. SB 3bets to 11bb and CO calls. Since the squeeze is on the light side and it's 3 way I decide to call as well. I hit TP on a pretty dry board and the action is checked to me. I make a small bet mostly for protection. CO calls. The turn is 9h, so I pick up a flush draw and an OESD. Now I really like my hand. My question is should I bet? I didn't bet, because I didn't want to get raised. He could still have all the sets and a straight with 77. Plus what would a bet achieve here? There is hardly anything I am getting value from, and there isn't much to protect my hand against. I am asking, because if the turn was a blank (for example let's say 3c) I would have bet 1/3 pot again. Does it make sense not to bet when I pick up equity, but bet when I don't? Is my fear of getting raised irrational? If I bet and get raised the hand is strong enough to call, but is that the best move?

Any thoughts you share on the hand or on my way of thinking would be much appreciated! Thank you!

1. Definitely at least call JT here, this is never ever a fold.
2. I wouldn't exactly say this board is dry, however your range will connect with this board more often than theirs for sure.
3. I like betting the flop here, you deny equity and get a bit of value while also making the hand straight forward to play. I think it is unlikely that anyone check/raises, but if that is a threat you need to either check the flop (probably best bet) or be willing to put in atleast a flop call with this hand.
4. The turn I think is probably best as a check. I can't imagine him folding a better hand (except maybe AT/KT/QT) or calling a worse one. I think at this point take it to show down unless you improve.

NH!

Interesting situation! Maybe this helps:

1) You don't make a bet for protection - protection is a consequence of the value you are betting for
2) Against a tight (maybe regular) a 9h on this board texture is in fact a scare card since it may hit your range harder than his (an A or K would be a perfect card for him)
3) It indeed has value to bet OTT.
4) You shouldn't fear when your equity goes up since you will win more often. In the end, this is what you want, right? You don't want to make a desperate 10%-move and say to yourself; ah well, at least I tried and I have a small chance to beat him hard so the joy will be only greater since my chances are more slim

In short: Bet the turn since the 9h gives you between 45%-50% equity, which is enough for a potential shove in case re-raised (with A-J, QQ+), which by far doesn't need to be exactly villain's hand.

lol.
In fact CO opens and calls the squeeze. I think this board hits him too.
Normally a pair+draw is a x on turn.

CO hasn't given hero any reason yet

Any reason for what? Villain can easily have 99-66, QJ-76...

66 and 88 wouldn't make any sense
