I never saw a SNG with this kind of stack sizes. So this is most likely a MTT and that's why I have moved your hand to the tournament hand discussion board.

I’m not that good in 250bb spots, but I would always check/call most flops with top pair in a multi way pot. As played I would fold the turn on his min raise, because you can only beat a bluff and it’s likely he could play 2 pairs and sets like this and it would be bad to stack off with so many chips with only a 1 pair hand I think.

Thats the very first hand, no info at all... u OR 4bbs from UTG and BU 3bets big.
For me, its fold preflop already.
At the beggining, this deep, guys tend to be way tight and u ll not gain much posflop when u hit this type of holding. When u get action, are more likely behind.

Thats different from the other hand u posted w AQs when the 3bet was really small and the stacks shallower. Meaning the villains have weaker ranges, and u can profitable go broke hitting ur hand.

To finish, keep posting hands... Really good see hands in the tournament section. So many different factors to put in balance (like icm and such). Its a good way to develop ur play.

yup for me the turn is also a clear fold.
just think about his range and what he does with what kind of hands.
lets say he 3bets you preflop with : AK, JJ+
the 3b on the turn only makes sence with QQ, KK and AA and since you have an Ace and a Q , KK is the most probable hand.
a bluff on his part just does not make any sense.
JJ , AK, will play much cautionsly.
even though you have a very strong hand, i you consider the actions of villian you are most certainly beat.
so let the hand go , you are still very deep.

First fold preflop and find better spot... early on play tight. try to see cheap flops and exploit your opponents postflop

As played , on the flop I would not lead, let him lead and re-evaluate? if his range (much wider than it probably is) is TT+ AQ+
by leading you are risking to fold JJ and TT and split or be behind the rest...
Even if he calls the flop with JJ TT , he is hardly raising with them, so it is a clear fold OTT.
So fold pre, as played, check / call flop (depending on bet size as well)
As played check / call turn (depending on bet size)
river again depending on bet size check fold or check call.

I liked the line you chose here as played. Check/calling and u ll still have some value from his cbetting range.

Question to SDK1987, is it not wrong calling a 3bet from EP with AQ at this stage of a tournament?

If you have decent post-flop edge at the table a call isn’t too bad, but it’s always difficult to play AQs OOP in a 3bet pot. Specially so deep it’s easy to lose a lot of chips if you don’t know what you’re doing. So a fold is for most players a lot better and try to play hands in position post-flop.

Only good deep stack cash game players are capable to play this kind of hands profitable OOP and I’m not 1 of them.

Personally, I think even good cash game players strive a lot to play good this type of holding OOP. And the position factor makes the fold even more accurate, besides all other factors already mentioned in this post.
