Hero (BTN): $6.35
SB: $12.94
BB: $5.54
UTG: $5.64
UTG+1: $27.81
UTG+2: $5.16
MP1: $5.00
MP2: $6.33
CO: $9.26

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is BTN with K :diamond: A
3 folds, MP1 raises to $0.12, MP2 calls $0.12, CO calls $0.12, Hero calls $0.12, 1 fold, BB raises to $5.54 all in, 4 folds

I should have squeezed myself.

Villain is a reg so I think his range is a lot wider here. Is this a profitable call? Does he ever have AA or KK here?

Yes, you should had squeezed. It depends how good the reg is. He could just raise to $1 and shove every flop with AA,KK. He could shove pre if he doesn't know what to do and is not willing to raise an unusually high amount without a clue how to play post. Or do this with AQ as the odd bluff or smthn. Hard to tell which version is the right one. As played I would fold aswell.

3bet with AK is the right play in my opinion and call is ok , I dont believe that so big raise is AA or KK, too big raise scares players and villain doesnt want that

You can put villain on KK+ if he was in the SB 3betting an EP raise. I think villain is much wider here. Hero should have raised this. AK is not an implied odds hand.

Call is nothing but ok preflop. We should squeeze with AK.
I do not agree that villainis wide here. Villain would be wide if he made a normal size squeeze. Here, it is KK+.

Do you assign KK+ because Villain 3bets MP from BB or because of the size of the raise (shove)?
The raise size is in fact so weird that Villain could have anything.
Do you think a raise with AK is a squeeze? Hero would be 3betting MP for value.
From the BTN I would squeeze with a much weaker hand.

1. BB is shoving here. His range is mostly KK+.
2. It is called a squeeze, not because you do it with AA,KK. Squeeze is when you have a raise and at least one call in front and you decide to re-raise.

OK so you put Villain on KK+ because of the bet size. Makes sense at this level.

I asked if you thought a raise with AK is a squeeze as a rethorical question.
A squeeze is a bluff, you try to squeeze the raiser off the hand while collecting dead money from the cold callers, it is a bluff, your main objective is folds.
It is a tricky move done at higher levels from the blinds with a weak hand, Ax or Kx.
So in this spot a re-raise with AK would be a 3bet for value against an opponent who has an average range (of course we do not have any reads at this table, if reads at NL5 mean anything). You want the raiser to continue OOP and pay off. We want the callers to fold and play heads up against the raiser in position with AK.

I wrote a lot of stuff and now I am tired :f_ugly:

Man, squeeze is a raise after a raise and a call. End of story.
Its not an inherent blufff. In fact, u can widen the range a bit when squeezing bc of dead money in the pot, so better pot odds... but raising AA in this situation still a squeeze, since the actions that happened before at the table dictates it.

thebaptist333, I think it was a great spot to squeeze ur AK.
Against this fishy shove, u can fold. But pay attention if the fish keeps doing it... if so, and u end up seeing him jamming w 42o or any other strange hand, u can widen up ur calling range and call w any Ax, for example, and embrace the 50%+ equity _thumbsup:

Man, you still do not get the right idea of a squeeze. A Squeeze is not only a bluff move. It can be done for value too. No matter if you raise here with AA or 72o, it is called a squeeze. It is a term wich differs from the 3B.
3B - you have someone opened and you raise
Squeeze - someone opened, some other player called and then you raise. And it is not done only from the blinds. The first position you can make a squeeze is the CO (UTGopens+MPcalls).

Now comes the hard part. When you makea squeeze you want the raiser to fold and to play vs the weaker range of the caller, not how you describe.

I hope it is clear now. Cheers.

This calls for trouble. If we see 42o once that doesn't mean anything yet. Could be a one-time spew, he could be drunk or something. And if he keeps doing that, well, maniacs and monkeys are quite easy to spot anyways.

It's platinum but the first paragraph is open to read.

Well, there isa mistake, as you can squeeze AA and it is not as a bluff.

Yeah, I think you should have 3bet. But calling is alright too. At low stakes like this, villain probably does have QQ, KK, AA in this spot. I would be really surprised if he didn't have one of those hands.

If the guy is drunk, and are just spewing money... we want to stack him asap. Thats why I think we can call Ax, here. If u wait to have a really good hand to stack him off, someone on table ll probably do it faster.
