I call AK from mp, because the button liked to squeeze.
On flop I decide to bet low to extract value from maybe AJ or AQ and to buy myself a turn and river card.
Riverraise of villain did not make sense at all to me, so after some thinking I decided to call.

Any opinions on line? :f_biggrin:

I'd be tempted to check the flop behind since we don't have any spades for BD Flush.
But as played you buy yourself a free river which is very good. The raise doesn't make sense at all except for A6 and A5 but you block that so that chance is slightly lower.

Seems fine to me sir.

This does not make much sense to me. So if you check all turns back(there are 4 outs if villain have AJ or AQ so we hit 9% of times turn.) then it's very easy to bluff with AJ or AQ against you on the river.(think at least 50% of the times you would get bluffed)

I love betting flop but not for reasons u mentioned.
This flop hits our range very hard and opponents range very little, so i think we can turn most of our hands bluff here.(22-44,77-88) and 3 barrel.
You get most of the times all overpairs to fold and nl50 you dont need to balance your range in this spot.
If you dont like to 3 barrel this hand and decide to 3 barrel bluff with more equty hands then you should check flop.(but i think since mp vs utg coldcalling range is so small you can bluff all hands there)

Preflop call???
Also I do think your sample for button squeezes are way off since you have 949 hands and his 3 bet is 7%.
Even if button sqz is around 10%, its not good play imo. I would 3 bet pre AK here always.
Sometimes if you have some agro players behind its much better to call AA-KK there and if you get sqz then just call not 4bet.(think your plan was with AK to 4bet if you get squeezed right?)

I do not like to 3bet utg too much with AK and QQ, rather like to call it when they are regs. When I would get squeezed (100bb stack) I would definitely 4bet/go broke if utg would fold or call the squeeze. When utg decides to 4bet the squeezze himself, I think I am in a f*cked up situation though :f_rolleyes:

I like the thinking, but sample is not big enough for this.

I don't think it's optimal, i could show u some calculations about calling vs 3 beting, but i don't see much point.
Just look what all good midstakes regs are doing preflop.
