$0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

SB: $8.20 (82 bb)
BB: $10.94 (109.4 bb)
UTG: $10 (100 bb)
MP: $14.59 (145.9 bb)
Hero (CO): $10.64 (106.4 bb)
BTN: $1.65 (16.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A J
UTG folds, MP calls $0.10, Hero raises to $0.40, 2 folds, BB raises to $1.60, MP folds, Hero calls $1.20

Flop: ($3.35) 7 9 T (2 players)
BB bets $1.67, Hero calls $1.67

Turn: ($6.69) 3 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $7.37 and is all-in, BB folds

Results:

$6.69 pot ($0.55 rake)
Final Board: 7 9 T 3
BB mucked and lost (-$3.27 net)
Hero mucked A J and won $6.14 ($2.87 net)

MP is a fish 85/20 and BB is maybe a reg? (only have 20 hands on him so i do not really know)

So i decided to flat his 3 bet because we have position and ok hand. Flop is good for us because it hits our range harder than hes range, and hes AQ,AK,KQ type hands miss the flop.

We have gut shot + two overs, but i'm counting only the ace as an over card (J is bad card for us). so we have 6 outs. I am mainly calling on the flop to take the pot away on turn because most regs just cbet flop and then check the turn when they got nothing. Villain then checks the turn (-> ususally has AK AQ etc. he should bet all his pairs because of the wet board) and i shove and take the pot down.

I cant really bet something like 2/3 pot on turn because then i don't have enough stack on river to make villain fold? -> I have to shove turn.

What do you think?

Prefer a 4bet bluff to flatting the 3bet.

As played I think the turn jam is fine. That board hits your range harder than his.

Other than not 4betting, you played this pretty well. I like the shove on the turn.

I prefer calling IP but I dont think he is thinking about your range.you can be pretty sure that if he had an overpair or hit the board in anyway he would call you.

It's a BB or two over a PSR; I don't think it's overly huge with a limper there.

I liked ur planning on this hand. Actually, u got more value calling this in position (villain cbet also goes to ur balance w this line ♠_thumbsup:).

Imo, aggressively well played hand.

I don't think that villain is balancing the turn with over pairs by sometimes checking and sometimes betting. When he checks the turn I think that his top range is A♥:K♥: Also his folp cbet is really small on a wet board so he shouldn't have anything strong.

I am discounting 0,5 outs for 8♥: and 0,5 outs for A♥: because they have negative implied odds. Not sure if that is the right word for it(negative implied odds) but you know, they can give villain a flush and we can lose lot more to him when that card hits.

The reason why I'm discounting 0,5 outs instead of 1 is because he can't always have the flush draw so we don't always lose when it hits the board.

As played I think we can call flop. When villain checks turn it is a bit risky to shove turn because we could get decent amount of calls from overpairs but I guess it is ok.

Good point actually.. I would not check the turn with overpair.
