We block straight draws. I think villain has a set/air here? Could raising flop be an option? I think you can call flop but you should fold turn. We don't get the odds to call and there is some reverse implied odds too.

Very close. Neither play can be that bad, but I lean towards folding since (among other things) an 8 yields four to a straight on the board - making it hard to get paid a 40bb+ bet (which you really need mathematically).

I think the flop hits a 3bet call range a bit too hard for that. Agree the turn should be a fold.

What about a flush draw? call flop and fold turn?

True. We would only fold out his air. Better to call and fold turn if he bets.

You can't have FD OTF on this board. But if you did I think call flop fold turn is still good. With FD you have less reverse implied odds and 1 more out so it would be more tempting to call turn also.

As in we have Q9dd or the flop is JhTx7h?

We should just call here. Raising is overplay and we should fold vs a raise.
FD should be played the same.

villain opens 3.4bb in CO
do you 3b bluff vs a 3.4bb ?
also you do it with the 8.4bb sizing ?
you want him to call with all hands ?

as played i'm probably raising the flop so that i create the impresion that i shove pot size on turn.
i mean what better flops do you want for that hand of yours?

and if he calls the flop raise, then i check back turn and see river
sometimes we should just ship turn... but i wouldnt in this spot because preflop was awfull play and he can even have 89

villain is very wide ... sets are a small part of his range so dont worry about them
worry about him not folding J9,J8,QJ to a ship on turn

I would not 3bet this hand as std, and if I 3bet, at least 3x the original raise.

Q9s is out of the calling range and is a good choice for bluff 3 bet.
About the sizing- some players 3B smaller when IP and bigger when OOP.

Standard 3bet COvsBTN. Ofc you do not have to 3bet, folding is fine too :) Calling is out of question... I might 3bet a bit bigger here but I think smaller size is not bad since we are IP.

If we 3 bet here, is for bluff... so I think a bigger size as std for all 3bets fits well in the gameplan (to have either more value and folds), like the 3x I suggested ip.

I knew you would fall into this. If Hero is applying the strategy of 3 betting small IP and big OOP, he should make the same size for value and as a bluff too.
It isa personal decision, about the strategy.
