Free roll 1000€ total prize pool, over 150€ to winner, everyone ITM, think I was just above average stack currently in line to win about 3.50€, if I bust now I win 1.50€ so decent money up top but nothing right now really

MP2 56/28 3bet 17% - 18 hands
BB no stats as only 2nd hand

I almost shoved as I dont think MP2 has anything after limping because the previous hand he had raised a real hand, but decide to play it sensibly and just call

OTF I bet pot as it is very draw heavy and can still get called by 2 overcards as well.
OTT is this a bet fold? I have a horrible feeling MP2 has a straight

Pacific, 500/1,000 blinds, 125 ante No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 8 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

MP3: 59,129 (59.1 bb)
CO: 44,468 (44.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8 9
2 folds, MP2 calls 1,000, 3 folds, Hero completes, BB checks

Flop: (4,000) 6 4 8 (3 players)
Hero bets 4,000, BB calls 4,000, MP2 calls 4,000

Turn: (16,000) 9 (3 players)
Hero bets 12,000, BB calls 2,677 and is all-in, MP2 raises to 42,799 and is all-in, Hero calls 30,799

I won't call it clear value on flop. He will limp A8, K8, T8, maybe even Q8 or J8. And also there is BB who can have 84. I would rather bet 1/2 of pot, because you will get as same result as if you bet pot. Those opponents don't care about bet size. By that you save some chips when opponents has better hand. Also board is low, which mean that they have a lot of sets in there range on flop.
9 on turn is tricky, but I don't like fold eather. there is FD, SD, top pair and worse 2 pairs. So I would call shove also.

GL at tables!

That is exactly right, by betting more I was hoping to get more value out of draws as they will call regardless of bet size, but then obviously when you're beat you're just throwing chips away

and yes good point about K8s, A8s etc

OTF I would bet smaller. OTT we have top 2 and I think it is ok to go broke. Villain still has some weaker made hands and draws.

Pretty much the same what everyone already said.

I would most likely fold pre-flop already with a weak off suite connecter like 98o.
I expect you get more times in trouble than that you will win a big pot win it.
