Total pot: t46400

reads about this player :
really tight, but when involved he likes to push big stacks preflop
avrg was 400k
i thought for along time.
i put himon a low pocket here as his most likey holding.
my stack is healthy and about average.
is this a spot where you should gamble mit AQ.
dont think he beats me here with AK or QQ+
so my equity should be quity good, but the odds are horribly bad and as mentioned its likely a 50/50.

should we call ?
why yes ? why not ?

I would like to call that one, mostly because we are just slightly above average stack and we need by far a bigger stack to compete for the first place. If my AQo doesnt hold up in that spot then im doomed and so be it cuz i gamble for winz.

Why not to call is if you have more than double average stack, it would be a waste of chips to call off 1/2 or even 1/3 of your stack with AQo in BB vs an somewhat tight player.

first thought was to call , pretty sure he has not got a hand that is dominating you anyway so the questions are has he got a pocket pair and do you want to take risk of coin flip

the range I would put him on would be a 60/40 to call & would call this

edit : thinking why risk a great tournament position on A high lol
given time would fold this & wait for better position but with 15-20sec to act would have called it

This is so sick, but I guess we should call to get a big stack and fight for first like sidewalker said , I think he doesn't have QQ+ in his range to push such a big stack.

gambleeee (of course, it's so easy to gamble another person's tourney )

The question Im asking myself is, would he risk his tourney in this spot with a complete bluff?
I think not, that puts him on a range of PP (66-JJ (QQ?)) and possibly AK-AQ. (Possibly AJ?)

So at best, at least in most cases, I would believe that you have a coinflip here, but as a small underdog. I have a hard time seeing him do this push with a weaker hand. I rather think he does the push to make it look like a weak steal, but holding a decent hand, to make you call with weaker hands.

I would rather wait for a better spot to double up and keep a tight image at the table.

This reasoning is given your reads, that he is a tight player who likes to push PF.

that is exactly the same logic which was going thre my mind.
most of the time im 45/55 underdog
i have a really good stack
i dont have to gamble here
there will be better spots for me than a call, where i`m an underdog.
beside that the pot odds offered for the call are really really bad.

i would rather call him with 99 or TT then with AQ in this spot.

I agree with this.
Like you said your stack is about average and can wait for better spots rather than gamling.

but he wont push any hand that dominates you apart from AK maybe , Js+ he will trap anyway

he would do it with suited connector , KJ any A + any pair , one thing for sure he dont want a call

Ya, it's a sane reasoning. Tho it's not always that u get a better spot, anyway as making that call is risky. Folding the hand is also a risk.

mighty be true.
BUT i had very tight reads on him.
this cutts off the QJs, suited connectors, KJ, KQ, and all small aces out
i really thing his range is that tight
55+
AQs+
and he is just afraid of playing postflop because i saw him doing this twice with this big stack but folding 90% of the time.

Ok, that would be good enough reson for me to fold AQ in BB. My calling range would be TT+ then.

still my logic could missguide me here.
the main fact is my big stack.
if my stack would be lower, say about 250k i would defenetly call here.
but in this situation of the tourney risking his life on that should be a 45/55 situation doesnt look good to me.
true it might give me a better chance at finishing first, but my chance to bust out more than compensates this.

there are just not many arguments for calling here besides the "if you win you have a real shot at #1"

so hero folded.

Ah, yes. It's a main factor always, the 'big stack'.
I would definitly stack off with AQ in BB if i had less than 2/3 off an average stack. TT+ does fine if i have an average stack. And QQ+ does the trick if i have more than 2*Average stack.

Anyway 18 players left and 12m @ this point, we don't really need the risk. Even tho i would against the right opponent.

yes against a looser opponent who pushes all in very often it swtiches to a call.

but hey i made my 1000 post

PRAY TO ME !
