Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Q♦ A♠

fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, fold, BB calls 2 BB

Flop: (6.5 BB, 2 players) 3♥ A♣ 9♦
BB bets 8 BB, Hero calls 8 BB

Turn: (22.5 BB, 2 players) 7♠
BB checks, Hero checks

River: (22.5 BB, 2 players) 5♠
BB bets 22.5 BB, Hero calls 22.5 BB

there are 40/60 stronger/weaker Ax in his range but I am pretty sure he calls our shove after he pot bets with pretty much all of his Ax. Why I didn't shove is that I felt I could find better spots to risk my all chips then in such an ambiguos decision.

His over pot bet on the flop is indeed weird and If you raise on flop he would most likely fold some weak hands as well. So I think I like your line here against a unknown like him.

I don't think I would raise the river just in case he has 2 pair, which looking at his stats is entirely possible against such a fish
If you think he does have an A then you could bet OTT as well

Why did you check back the turn? Afraid he'd fold a worse hand? His overbet on the flop indicates aggression, I don't think he'd fold against a 10bb bet, I would have tried to get more value out of it. Also if he then checkraises you, that'd be more of an indication of 2 pair than raising on the river.

The Villain was unknown to us and didn't really know yet what his overbets meant (the nuts or nut bluffs) so I thought checking would remain all the bluffs in his range and we could safely go to a showdown. If he c/r OTT we would be left with decision either to fold or to go AI coz if we call OTT we would be forced to call OTR anyway. If he just called OTT and shoved the river given the absence of info on him we essentially would not know what this line meant (basically, just Ax would rarely do this oop against an opp who called OTF and bet OTT but we don't know here).
